Rock mesh is one of the most common types of rockfall protection seen around the world.  It is a cost effective solution to keeping overhead hazards from impacting items of concern below.  Rock mesh comes in many different styles and grades.  These mesh systems are often secured to the rock face with a top line system with tie back anchors and main anchors.  The top line is normally setup first then the mesh is put in place with the aid of helicopters, cranes or high lines.  The mesh is sometimes setup to act as a drape with the aid of stanchions. Drape mesh is great if the slope is steep enough.  It tends to receive less damage form rock fall and it requires less maintenance.
