Norpac completed the BR1 Surge Towers Slope Stabilization Project for BC Hydro in partnership with the Tsal’alh Development LP (TDLP).  The scope of work included the following:

  • 314 linear metres of foundation anchors
  • 228 linear metres of shotcrete anchors
  • 108 weep pipes
  • 24 linear metres of rock anchors
  • 1040 m2 of fibre-reinforced dry mix shotcrete

The site presented multiple challenges, including a wide range of temperature and weather conditions and remote location. A combination of rope access techniques and telehandler with man basket were used to access the rock slope.
